The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a busy manufacturing site in Coventry.
This role is ideal for engineers with Hydromat rotary machine experience and strong hydraulic knowledge, looking for a long-term, stable position with excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve machine uptime
- Fault-find on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Strip, refurbish and repair spindles, valve heads and tables
- Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
- Respond to breakdowns and support production handovers
- Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work to lean manufacturing and 5S standards
- Coordinate work with engineers and external contractors
- Ensure all work complies with EHS requirements
- Provide technical input into FMEA and problem-solving activities
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical engineering background
- Hydraulic knowledge (essential)
- Experience working on Hydromat rotary machines
- PLC interrogation and fault-finding experience
- Knowledge of CNC / PLC-controlled machinery
- Ability to read schematic and technical drawings
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- HNC or equivalent engineering qualification
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques
- Frontline maintenance system experience
Shift Pattern
Monday – Thursday
- 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm / 10pm–6am
- (30-minute paid lunch)
Friday
- 6am–12pm / 12pm–6pm / 6pm–12am
- (10-minute paid break)
Pay & Benefits
- £20.27 per hour
