Lead Civil Engineer – Water Industry
Location: Manchester | Hybrid / Flexible Working Available
Salary: £70,000 – £90,000 (DOE)

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join a growing, forward-thinking engineering consultancy delivering impactful projects across the UK water sector.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and play a major part in shaping the future of a busy and expanding design team.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing technical leadership to the civil engineering design team
- Leading outline and detailed design across:
- Infrastructure & non-infrastructure projects
- Clean and wastewater schemes
- Supporting delivery of major UK water projects
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients
Projects You’ll Be Involved In
- UMON 3 & 4 upgrades at sewage treatment works
- Clean water main replacement schemes
- CSO upgrades and storm storage solutions
- A wide range of projects across the UK water industry
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience working with regulated UK water companies (essential)
- Strong background in civil design within water/utilities projects
- Ability to lead projects and influence technical direction
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
