The Opportunity

We’re working with a growing engineering consultancy delivering high-quality design solutions across the UK water sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of multidisciplinary design projects and play a key role in delivering work to regulated water clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step up their career, gain exposure to complex projects, and progress into a Senior Project Manager role.

The Role

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of design projects, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing multidisciplinary water design projects from concept through to delivery
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications
  • Coordinating and managing contracts under NEC frameworks
  • Developing and maintaining project programmes and tracking progress
  • Acting as the key point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
  • Reporting project performance and progress to senior stakeholders
  • Managing communication between internal teams and supply chain partners
  • Supporting tender submissions with input from engineering teams
  • Mentoring and developing junior project managers

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience in project management or design management
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness (NEC experience desirable)
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Ability to manage programmes and coordinate teams effectively
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering or managing design work
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small team
  • Degree, HND or equivalent

Desirable:

  • Experience within the UK regulated water industry
  • Knowledge of rail design processes (e.g. GRIP, CRE, CEM)
  • Experience managing design changes and variations
  • 4+ years’ experience in project/design management
