Are you a commercially aware Buyer with strong supplier management skills and a passion for driving value through procurement?

We are looking for a proactive and organised Buyer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in sourcing products, managing supplier relationships, supporting stock availability, and contributing to the overall success of a growing business.

You will work closely with supply chain, operations, finance, and commercial teams to ensure products are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and delivered on time.

The Role

As Buyer, you will support the Procurement Manager in delivering an effective procurement strategy, with a primary focus on purchasing products for resale. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, supplier performance, inventory alignment, and continuous improvement across procurement activities.

This is a varied and fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, analysing data, solving problems, and making a real impact on business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Source and purchase products in line with business demand and forecasting requirements
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and performance
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to achieve best value
• Support procurement strategies focused on cost, quality, and service improvements
• Monitor supplier performance and service levels, ensuring corrective actions are completed where required
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to support business growth and continuity

Supply Chain & Inventory Support

• Work closely with supply chain planners and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels
• Ensure procurement plans align with operational and customer demand
• Proactively manage risks including shortages, delays, and supply disruptions
• Support the resolution of supply issues to minimise operational impact

Commercial & Cost Management

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget targets
• Monitor market trends, pricing changes, and supply risks
• Support tenders, supplier negotiations, and purchasing projects
• Contribute to supplier audits and sustainability initiatives
• Provide accurate procurement data for forecasting and reporting

Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within ERP/MRP systems
• Produce reports and track procurement KPIs including supplier performance, lead times, OTIF, and cost savings
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes
• Ensure procurement records and audit trails are maintained accurately

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience within purchasing, procurement, or sourcing
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain processes
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused approach

Desirable

• Exposure to supplier management or sourcing strategies
• Understanding of contracts or supplier risk management
• Working towards or interested in a CIPS qualification
• Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related discipline
