Starkey Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected chemical manufacturer supplying intermediates into the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical sectors.
This is a technically strong site with real plant, real process, and proper engineering standards — not a “fit and forget” environment.
We’re looking for an Instrument Technician (or Senior level) who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and being part of a close-knit maintenance team.
The Role
You’ll report into the Instrument Maintenance Engineer and play a key role in keeping plant instrumentation reliable, compliant and safe.
Your work will include:
Preventative & reactive instrumentation maintenance
Plant installation & modification work
Instrument calibration (ISO9001 compliance)
Supporting statutory inspections
Using CMMS systems effectively
Interpreting technical drawings & manuals
Working safely under Permit to Work systems
Supporting ATEX-rated environments (Gas, Vapour & Dust)
What We’re Looking For
RQF Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Control & Instrumentation
Strong diagnostic & fault-finding ability
Industrial or chemical manufacturing experience
ATEX knowledge desirable
If you’re already operating at Senior level — excellent.

Salary & Earnings
£35,300 (Normal Grade)
£37,100 (Senior Grade)
After approx. 6 months (once site knowledge is achieved):
1 in 4 call-out rota
• £1,700 annual retention payment
• £75 per call
• Minimum 4 hours paid at OT rate
